Thanksgiving – Friendsgiving

Thanksgiving Sooooo … this week has been crazy. That’s why the post is going to be a little bit unusual. Before anyone asks, no we don’t have any American roots or family, BUT we love to celebrate! Give me any kind of holiday and we are going to adapt it :-). If it were up to me we could celebrate Depavali as well. Last year right after we moved in we wanted to invite our friends over for dinner. Thanksgiving…

Gula Apong – Palmsugar Chicken

We arrived back from South-East Asia a couple of weeks ago and everything is back to normal. Meaning we are working all the time and it really is getting winter here in Germany. Even though I am still working on the article about Malaysia and Brunei, I like to show you an easy peasy Malaysian Palmsugar chicken recipe that brings you into traveling mode right away! As we were strolling through Kuching in Borneo I stopped to take a photo…

Ginger and Lemon Syrup

Ginger and Lemon Syrup

This Ginger and Lemon Syrup is one of those quick and easy recipes that one usually has all the ingredients required at home. I used to make the syrup all summer because there is nothing better on a hot day! We add it to sparkling water and it makes the easiest lemonade that impresses every guest. I never came around to take photos for the blog though. After our holiday it got way to cold for lemonade recipes…. BUT !!!…

Late Summers in Provence

Provence Houses

Exploring the South of France Here we are again. Traveling, slow internet connections and a LOT of work kept us away from blogging for a week or so. But here we are with LOTS of new content! If you love travelling as much as we do you will know about the problem of going to the same place again (and again). We are all for exploring new places and usually I am planing the next trip while being on the…

Singapore City Guide

Singapore view

We left Germany to South East Asia and our first stop was Singapore. To be honest, I didn’t expect too much from this city that is called ‘Asias Switzerland’. So far we have been told that Singapore is supposed to be clean, big and expensive. Most backpackers skip it or stay only for a short stopover. We have more reason to stay: My colleague and friend just moved there and we kind of invited ourselves over 🙂 For the first…

Turmeric Salmon Curry

Turmeric Salmon Curry

Indian Curry with salmon and spinach Sorry … it’s curry time again! But there are soooo many different types of curry that I won’t be running out of new recipes to try. I spent only about 6 days in India but I quickly figured out there are only two ways to feel about this country. You either love it the minute you leave the airpot and smell this distinctive Indian smell or you absolutely hate it. Well … I chose…

Dulce de Leche – Alfajores

Alfajores

A South American signature treat! Dulce de leche – that’s one of those words that makes me think about Latin America in an instant. It’s the South-Americans Nutella! You can get it in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil and everywhere it’s slightly different. Basically Dulce de leche is a caramel spread that you can use for pretty much everything. You can spread it on your bread, fill any pastry or … just make some Alfajores! We even had empanadas…

Fruity Thai Curry

What is it about Curry? A couple of years ago (to be honest about 10 years) Fred and I were sitting in Kao San Road Bangkok. We were about 3 weeks into our first backpacking trip and it was our first time ever in Asia. Last years all inclusive holiday on a Greek island has not really been a success. But that might be another story. Anyways… there we were. It was ten o’clock in the morning, it was steaming…

We are back!

Hey guys. … look who is back online! So today you are going to have to listen to my chit-chat. New language First of all, some of you might realize that this blog started off as a German website. English is not our mother tongue and we are not perfect by far. But we decided to continue writing in English anyway, so feel free to show us our mistakes now that we are back online!! About a year ago we…

Brasilien Part V

Also Stiefeln sie…
