Gula Apong – Palmsugar Chicken

We arrived back from South-East Asia a couple of weeks ago and everything is back to normal. Meaning we are working all the time and it really is getting winter here in Germany. Even though I am still working on the article about Malaysia and Brunei, I like to show you an easy peasy Malaysian Palmsugar chicken recipe that brings you into traveling mode right away! As we were strolling through Kuching in Borneo I stopped to take a photo…

Late Summers in Provence

Provence Houses

Exploring the South of France Here we are again. Traveling, slow internet connections and a LOT of work kept us away from blogging for a week or so. But here we are with LOTS of new content! If you love travelling as much as we do you will know about the problem of going to the same place again (and again). We are all for exploring new places and usually I am planing the next trip while being on the…

Singapore City Guide

Singapore view

We left Germany to South East Asia and our first stop was Singapore. To be honest, I didn’t expect too much from this city that is called ‘Asias Switzerland’. So far we have been told that Singapore is supposed to be clean, big and expensive. Most backpackers skip it or stay only for a short stopover. We have more reason to stay: My colleague and friend just moved there and we kind of invited ourselves over 🙂 For the first…

Greece – Sailing Trip

How it all began What do you give you dad on his 60th birthday, when he basically can afford everything material? Time! Time with his children. Because after all, it is the quality time with lovely people that everybody remembers a long time and which intensifies the bonding between parents and kids – even if the kids are already adults. One week of quality time with our dad. Thinking about the right destination and a decent action factor (…

Bolivia – Salar de Uyuni

They are all funny, extraordinary, unexpected and exiting adventures that make a trip unforgettable. And these are the ones who make a traveler a storyteller. Every traveler has a few stories which he or she particularly likes to tell. For Fred, Maren and me our tour through the salt desert of Bolivia is definitely one of these stories. In the days before, we had already visited the city of La Paz, drove down the popular Death Road on mountain bikes and…

Dulce de Leche – Alfajores

A South American signature treat! Dulce de leche – that’s one of those words that makes me think about Latin America in an instant. It’s the South-Americans Nutella! You can get it in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil and everywhere it’s slightly different. Basically Dulce de leche is a caramel spread that you can use for pretty much everything. You can spread it on your bread, fill any pastry or … just make some Alfajores! We even had empanadas…

Fruity Thai Curry

What is it about Curry? A couple of years ago (to be honest about 10 years) Fred and I were sitting in Kao San Road Bangkok. We were about 3 weeks into our first backpacking trip and it was our first time ever in Asia. Last years all inclusive holiday on a Greek island has not really been a success. But that might be another story. Anyways… there we were. It was ten o’clock in the morning, it was steaming…

Vietnam and Cambodia

When strangers become friends: Discovering Vietnam and Cambodia in a group > „I quit!“ > „Fuck …“ My still boss and I were sitting in the city center of Frankfurt having lunch when I handed him the news. Over the past three years, we had mastered many ups and downs in our job together, but now it was time for me to go my own way. As the news spread slowly in the company, I dedicated my entire attention to my…

We are back!

Hey guys. … look who is back online! So today you are going to have to listen to my chit-chat. New language First of all, some of you might realize that this blog started off as a German website. About a year ago we…

Brasilien Part V

Also Stiefeln sie…
