Sooooo … this week has been crazy. That’s why the post is going to be a little bit unusual. Before anyone asks, no we don’t have any American roots or family, BUT we love to celebrate! Give me any kind of holiday and we are going to adapt it :-). If it were up to me we could celebrate Depavali as well. Last year right after we moved in we wanted to invite our friends over for dinner. Thanksgiving was just around the corner, so we decided to have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. To be honest, all that you hear about thanksgiving in Germany is that there are maaaaaany sales going on… kind of sad actually.
This is the second time that we hosted our turkey dinner and since last year we have learned a lot. For example that you don’t need one kg of turkey per person :-D.
I was cooking for pretty much one week but everything turned out perfect. Even though I had to recalculate every single recipe to the metric system…. guys… I cannot get used to cups and ounces and fahrenheit… I am so sorry !
Enough talking, just have a look at our table decoration! I did not want it to be to christmasy, so I went for more neutral colors. Of course a little bit of gold and red popped in as well :-). We had an amazing Cranberry Mojitio as an aperitif that I might share later.
As I was VERY busy getting everything ready in time, I was very lucky to have our friend Filiz take photos of EVERYTHING! Thank you so much! Have a look at her instagram : @fili.ari.top
For all of you who celebrated Thanksgiving as well, I hope you had an amazing holiday! Maren
